Lammily Doll- the new, real image of the doll

Since its appearance in 1959, the Barbie doll has been a huge part of every child's life. There is no kid who hasn't heard of the famous doll and many of us reminisce about our childhood spent dressing her and brushing her hair. But as time passed and society radically changed, more and more people realised that the body image presented by this harmless toy is not quite realistic. This, according to the public's opinion, might mold the young minds incorrectly by providing a false conception about the human body. These complaints have reached Nikolay Lamm's ears, who, as soon as he heard the complaints, has come up with a plan to create the first real doll ever. This is how the Lammily doll was born.

The doll is a replica of the body of the average 19 year-old woman in America. But the realistic measurements are not the only features that are different from the original Barbie doll; as of January 2015, the Lammily doll, as the creator named it, will also come with a pack of stickers that replicate cellulite, acne, stretch marks and many others. This is a wonderful and unique addition to the toy and it is a very useful tool that might aid in breaking children's misconceptions about the human body.

As soon as the Lammily doll hit the market, reactions soon started to appear, praising the inventor of this new and innovative toy for creating the first real doll in the world. And the ones who seem to enjoy the appearance of this new doll in our society are none other than the ones for whom the doll was designed for: children. Nikolay Lamm decided to put his new creation to test and so, with the help of the Assistant Head of St. Edmund's Academy, an independent 8th grade school, he asked some second grade children for their opinions on the Lammily doll, and the results couldn't have been better. When comparing the original Barbie doll and the Lammily doll, the children were faced with 2 extremely different body images and they immediately noticed the huge differences between the two bodies down to the last detail, going so far as to saying which characteristics seemed to be normal . They said that they could relate more to the new doll rather than the original Barbie and when asked which doll they would pick, the children interviewed picked the Lammily doll.

The invention of the Lammily doll is the first step to destroying today's poor image of the human body. It is extraordinary to see somebody take action against the negative influence today's view of the perfect body has on teenagers and young adults, and we hope that the boy version of the realistic doll hits the market soon.
